"TRIBUTE TO THE 1950s"

Model railroads from France, Italy and Switzerland

After World War II the 1950s were marked by the reappearance of the tin toys in general and the toy trains in special. Germany was the principal emerging market, with well known names like Märklin, Fleischmann and others taking a dominating role. However, in other countries smaller factories appeared on the market, offering different trains, less known but producing with extremely high standards, showing more detail than trains produced by their large and well known competitors.

Have you ever heard of Antal, the Italian producer?
Do the French names VB, SMCF, PMP and Antal mean anything to you?
How about the Swiss WESA?

In our Special Exhibition you can see and admire hundreds of these little known, rare railway cars, engines and accessories, collected by a private collector to make this exhibition very special and very different.
