DOLLHOUSES/STORES/KITCHENS etc.
|
Dollhouses, stores, kitchens, stables, gardenhouses, public baths etc. were built extensively throughout the last 200 years. They are primarily copies of the actual thing, showing how people lived and what was important to them.
Very often these items were made of wood; there was no limit to size and imagination. In addition, talented fathers would sometimes create a dollhouse and then furnish it with their homebuilt furniture; prefabricated sets could also be bought for home assembly. As a rarity, some excellent pieces from master carpenters have stood the march of time.
